Once upon a time, Sony had a PS4 app that worked reasonably well. NOTE FOR ALL NEW USERS WHO THINK THIS APP IS GOOD: Purely apart from the fact that they’ve stripped even more functionality from the app so that it now shows virtually nothing, it now appears that Sony have, once again, forgotten that there’s a thing called an “iPad” that works really well in landscape mode. Unfortunately, they’ve changed the name from PS messaging to “well, that didn’t work.” Putting messaging back into the main app IS a good idea. The new app is, to put it mildly, pathetic. Not only that, it takes several seconds to load the next lot of like 10 riously?!? Clap, clap for Sony!! If I’ve viewed all new messages then why on earth leave the ‘notifications’ icon highlighted & consequently the badge icon until I specifically go into the notifications section to clear both? You removed filters & sort options from the store? Are you kidding me?!? I’ve literally given up searching for a random cheap game to buy as I simply don’t have the time to sort through page after page after page instead of just being able to sort by cheapest price or highly rated, yet again you limit capabilities (in what I can only assume is to reduce maintenance time fixing all of your poor implementations) only to lose more sales. What is up with the back button? It keeps changing location with different menu’s & doesn’t work half the time, it’s actually quicker to kill the app & restart. Firstly, why is it I’m only receiving a banner & sound notification for half of the alerts I get? If someone starts a party or invites me I need to know about it!
